Federal Hill Dentures, Fitted With Patience
What Dentures Are and Who They Help
Dentures replace missing teeth and restore your bite with a custom fitted set you can take out to clean. A full set replaces every tooth on the upper or lower arch. A removable partial fills the gaps and clips onto the natural teeth you still have.
Most people who call us have lived with missing teeth for a while. They have trouble chewing, start avoiding certain foods, cover their mouth when they smile, or keep an old partial in a drawer because it no longer fits. Whatever brought you here, the first step is a conversation, not a lecture, and every set of Federal Hill dentures we make starts there.
For the citywide picture, our page on dentures in Baltimore covers the full service across every neighborhood we see.
- Full dentures and partial dentures, each made for your mouth
- Adult care led by Dr. Robinson, trained at Rutgers and BronxCare
- Fitting and adjustments until the set sits comfortably
- A written cost before any work begins
- Reserved parking at our Fort Avenue office

One Practice for the Teeth You Keep and the Ones You Replace
Dentures work best when the rest of your mouth stays healthy. These services look after the teeth you keep and the gums your denture rests on.
Adult Cleanings and Exams
Regular cleanings protect the natural teeth that hold a partial in place, and we check your gums at the same visit.
Restorative Care
Fillings and crowns repair the teeth worth keeping. Sometimes that means a smaller partial, or no denture at all.
Emergency Care
A cracked denture, a broken clasp or sudden soreness gets a quick response. Call first and we will work to see you soon.
Dental Insurance
Our front desk checks your coverage before treatment, so you know what your plan pays and what you pay.
Cavity Treatment
Decay on a tooth that supports a partial affects the whole denture, so we treat it early and keep you informed.
Dental Implants
Implants can anchor a denture so it stays put. We explain whether you are a candidate and how the steps fit together.
Dental X Rays
X rays show the bone and roots an exam cannot see, which helps us choose the right denture for your mouth.
Candid Clear Aligners
If some teeth have shifted into old gaps, aligners can move them back before we fit a partial.
Care for the Whole Family
Adults and children see us at the same office, so one call can cover a parent's denture visit and a child's checkup.
Federal Hill Dentures: Are You a Good Candidate?
Most adults with several missing teeth can wear dentures. Full dentures suit people missing every tooth on an arch, or whose remaining teeth cannot stay. Partial dentures suit people who still have healthy teeth to clip onto.
Your gums and jawbone shape the choice too. After a tooth comes out, the bone beneath it slowly shrinks, and that can change how a denture sits over time. Implant supported dentures can help in that case. We look at all of this at your consultation and lay out your tooth replacement options in plain words.
Getting Federal Hill Dentures, Step by Step
What the Next Few Months Look Like
Most people want to know how many visits it takes and what life looks like in between. Here is the usual order. Your own timeline may run shorter or longer.
-
Consultation
One visit. We look at your teeth, gums and jaw, take x rays if needed, and walk you through your options and the cost. You leave with a written plan.
-
Extractions, if needed
Some teeth may need to come out first. We tell you at the consultation whether we handle that here or refer you, and your gums then need several weeks to heal.
-
Impressions and a temporary set
We take impressions so the lab can build your denture to fit your mouth. If teeth come out, a temporary denture can keep you from going without teeth while you heal, so most people keep working as usual.
-
Custom fitting
Before the final set, we check the shape, size and shade with you. You tell us what looks right and what to change.
-
Final fitting and adjustments
We place the finished set and check how it sits when you bite, chew and talk. Follow up visits over the next few weeks smooth out any sore spots.
Most Federal Hill dentures cases take a few months when extractions come first, and less time without them. You get your own estimate at the consultation.
Top Rated Federal Hill Dentures: Care That Fits Your Life
What Adult Patients Say About Their Visits
Hundreds of five star Google reviews come from patients across Baltimore. Here is what adults tell us after their visits.
Federal Hill Dentures Options: Full, Partial and Implant Supported
Full Dentures and Partial Dentures in Federal Hill
Full dentures replace a complete row of teeth and rest on your gums. They hold through a close fit, and some people add adhesive for extra grip. Partial dentures fill one or more gaps and use small clasps on your natural teeth to stay in place.
A partial also does a quiet second job. It holds the space so neighboring teeth do not drift, which protects your bite.
Implant Supported Dentures for a Steadier Fit
These dentures snap onto a small number of implants in the jaw instead of resting on the gums alone, so you get less shifting or slipping when you eat and talk. The implants need a few months to bond with the bone before the denture attaches. If this option suits you, we explain who places the implants and how the steps fit together.
Implants sit within our wider restorative dentistry care, alongside fillings and crowns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers About Federal Hill Dentures
Adults reach us from Federal Hill, Riverside, Locust Point and across South Baltimore. These are the questions we hear most before a first denture visit.
It depends on how many healthy teeth you have left. Full dentures replace every tooth on the upper or lower arch, while partial dentures fill the gaps and clip onto your natural teeth.
We check each remaining tooth before recommending either. A partial also keeps your remaining teeth from shifting into the empty spaces, which helps your bite stay steady.
Four things move the price most: full or partial, one arch or two, whether you need extractions first, and whether implants are part of the plan.
We give you a written cost at your consultation, before any work starts. Our front desk also checks your dental insurance so you can see what your plan covers and what you would pay.
Not at this time. The Maryland Medicaid dental program does not cover full or partial dentures for adults 21 and older, though it does cover denture adjustments once a denture is more than six months old.
Coverage rules can change, so ask us to check your plan when you call. We accept Maryland Healthy Smiles for the visits it covers, and we go over any out of pocket cost with you before treatment begins.
Yes. You do not need to be an existing patient, and you do not need children at the practice.
Our name and decor lean toward kids, so many adults assume we only treat children. We do not. Dr. Robinson leads adult care, and we see adult patients every week.
Often a few months from consultation to final set when extractions come first, and less time when they do not.
Healing after extractions takes the most time. In between, a temporary set can keep you from going without teeth. We give you your own timeline at the consultation instead of a general estimate.
Some soreness in the first few weeks is common, and adjustments usually ease it.
A new denture presses on spots your gums are not used to yet. Call us rather than putting up with a sore spot, because a small adjustment can help fix it the same day.
Most people settle in within a few weeks to about a month.
Your mouth needs time to get used to a new set. Speech often catches up fastest, especially if you read aloud for a few minutes each day. Eating takes a little longer.
Yes, after a short adjustment period. Start with soft foods for the first week or two, then build back up.
Cut food into small pieces and chew on both sides at once to keep the denture steady. Some people find a denture adhesive helps early on. Firmer foods come back with practice.
Dentures can help support your lips and cheeks, which often helps the face look fuller than it did with missing teeth.
Your gums slowly change shape over the years, so the fit changes too. Regular checkups let us refit the base when needed, so the denture keeps sitting the way it should.
That is fine, and you will not get a lecture. Many adults we see have put off care for a long time.
We start where you are today. We explain what we find in plain words, answer every question, and let you set the pace. Nobody here will make you feel bad for waiting.
Yes. Partial dentures exist for exactly that situation.
We check your remaining teeth first. If any need treatment or removal, we explain why before anything gets scheduled, and we tell you whether that happens here or with a specialist we refer you to.
Brush them daily, rinse them after meals, and keep them moist when they are out of your mouth.
We show you how at your fitting, including what to use and what to avoid. Bring your denture to every checkup so we can check the fit and the condition of your gums.
Yes. We open at 7 AM on Fridays and 8 AM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and we offer Saturday morning appointments too.
Saturday availability varies, so call (443) 681-6455 to check which Saturdays are open. Early slots let many patients finish a fitting before work.

Back to the Food You Like Around Federal Hill
Food sits at the center of life here in Federal Hill. Neighbors grab lunch at the stalls in Cross Street Market, meet friends at the restaurants along Light Street, and spend summer evenings picking crabs. Missing teeth make all of that harder, and that is often the moment people decide to call us.
The goal of a denture is simple: to chew and speak with confidence again. We tell you plainly what to expect, from soft foods in the first weeks to working back up to the meals you missed. Some foods take practice, and we will not pretend otherwise.
Short Trips for Fittings and Adjustments
Dentures take more than one visit, so a nearby office makes a real difference, and we plan Federal Hill dentures care around short, easy trips. From the Federal Hill Park side of the neighborhood, head east on Fort Avenue and you reach us in a few minutes. Riverside neighbors near Riverside Park and Locust Point families near Latrobe Park are closer still, and Key Highway links us to the Inner Harbor side of town.
From farther out, Interstate 95 and 395 bring you close to our door. We keep reserved parking at the office, and early hours on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings let you fit a visit in before work.
Many households already know us through their children. A parent’s denture visit and a child’s checkup can happen on the same morning, at the same practice your family already trusts.
